Maryland Chicken

My adorable boyfriend announced on Sunday that he was going to make me dinner on Tuesday 🙂 how lovely is that! He then told me that is was going to be a surprise.. even more lovely!

So I came home from work on Tuesday and something was smelling good 🙂 He had decided to make Maryland chicken, his signature dish!

It is a rich dish and has a surprise ingredient.. banana! Now i know what your thinking.. but trust me it is so good! And it complements the bacon very well.

So, here is a step by step guide on how to make Maryland Chicken, Gareth Topping Stylie! It is basically a chop it all up and shove it in the dish type meal.

First off you need ingredients.. Chicken Breast, Bacon, Butter Beans, Double cream, Sweetcorn, butter and don’t forget the banana!

Start by mashing half the butter beans with a fork, and chopping the banana up into chunks, then get your dish and put the sweet corn butter beans and banana in it evenly.

You are meant to stuff the chicken breast with banana, but we don’t like it like that so we just chop it up and put it in the dish.

Next place the chicken in the middle of the pan – not to close to each other, beacauce we made this mistake once and they took ages to cook. Smother it in cream.

Then wrap some bacon around it… and then your done!

Place in the oven for 35 minutes (or until the chicken has cooked through) at 220c and then serve in your dish. Dont worry about serving any thing with it, this dish is very filling as it is.

Okay so it doesn’t look that good, but trust me, its tastes amazing! Give it ago and let me know what you think!
